Those of us who rely on glasses to help read road signs or to enjoy the latest best-seller often consider them a mere necessity. However, Kimberly Miller-Bott, the charming founder of the newly opened Eyetopian Optical, in Fairlawn, has put an end to that myth. She insists that although eyewear serves a practical purpose, it should also make a unique fashion statement about an individual’s style and personality. 
 
“There was a time when choices were limited to basic frames and lenses,” Kim says. “But not anymore. Today’s hot designer brands have helped eyewear become a sophisticated accessory—just like jewelry, handbags and shoes.”
 
And just as you wouldn’t carry the same purse or wear the same tie with every outfit, many women and men are opting to have
several pair of glasses to accentuate various moods— from flirty to professional to just plain sexy.
  
To facilitate this growing trend, Kim’s new Eyetopian Optical carries a whopping 700 hundred different frames. Sure you’ll find popular designers like Tiffany, Coach, Cazal, Calvin Klein and Fendi, but you’ll also find highly exclusive lines like Italy’s delicious Linea Roma, which features just the right touch of bling, and Azzaro, a line inspiring a more continental look—direct from Paris. 
 
“We carry brands that you’d expect to see only in the fashion capitals of L.A. and New York, and we’re constantly keeping an eye on the latest trends,” explains Kim, who regularly travels to top shows in New York and Las Vegas to ensure her styles are on the cutting edge of the industry.
 
“Our focus is to offer exceptional customer service coupled with a boutique experience,” adds Kim, who grew up helping her mother, Sharon Winter Miller, at her Winning Image Boutique, the family’s popular bridal boutique in Wooster. 

Stylish frames and fabulous service are only part of the Eyetopian Optical experience. The other half of the equation is the lenses. 
 
“It’s crucial that both elements—frames and lenses—are customized to match each individual’s needs. That’s how we provide the ultimate eyewear experience,” says Kim. “We take the time to sit down and fully evaluate each client to make sure they receive a perfect fit.”
 
Accurate Lenses
Although Eyetopian offers a standard lens selection, it is in the forefront with free-form digital lenses, a type of progressive lens that is custom fabricated to meet specific sight needs.
 
The end result: less distortion, better clarity and a wider field of vision.
 
“Many clients who tell me they can’t adjust to progressive lenses are thrilled with the digital free-form style, which usually takes
little or no time to get use to,” explains Kim.
 
Eyetopian Optical also features an onsite lab that provides clients with not only expedience, but quality assurance as well.
 
“Because we have the ability to grind lenses right here, glasses can sometimes be ready the same day, often within an hour,” says Kim.
 
“Plus, that means we have complete control over the quality of our product.”
  
And if your prescription requires sending your order to a more sophisticated off-site lab, Kimberly still maintains quality control.
 
She owns that lab, too.
 
Kimberly, her husband Randy, and their three kids recently returned to Northeast Ohio from Southwest Florida to be near family.
